We've been counting down to this day practically since our arrival. And it finally arrived! We moved into our apartment today. And it's as amazing as it sounds.
This is how it all went down:
We packed our bags last night and got everything ready to leave. We had been corresponding with Benoit (someone from the company who is renting out our apartment), and planned to meet at the door at 10h00. We left Delph's around 9h00 and had a do-able but not fun metro experience, and got to the apartment on time. Benoit was a little late but we got to see the apartment and he showed us the place, gave us the wifi password, etc. We hung around for a bit and tried some things out. Our shower is amazing. Possibly the best shower I have used thus far in my life. We left the apartment around 11h30 to head to class for our phonetic test.
The test was weird. I have literally no idea how I made out on it, but afterwards I picked up my book from the library - (my FREE book!!!! Thank you french university system), and headed to my first grammar class. My teacher is so awesome. I'm so happy with the level, his teaching style, and how things went the first day.
After class we headed back to Delph's and made our final quiche there. Considering we don't have an oven in our apartment, we thought it was best not to be wasteful and just cooked it before doing our second luggage transfer. We hung around for a bit, but Delph didn't come home in that time, so for the sake of getting our things moved in daylight, we left her a note and her keys and made our final exit from Montrouge.
We got here, unpacked, stopped at the grocery store, and things have been marvelous ever since. I've been laying in my bed, eating double stuffed oreos, drinking heineken, and watching house dubbed over in french. I have literally no clue whats going on but I don't really care. I'm now going to bed since I have class very early, but I will post a more interesting thing tomorrow.
